STI College Iloilo, a member of
STI Education Services Group, recently held an educational tour to Sampaguita
Gardens in New Washinton Aklan last January 10, 2012. This year’s educational
trips features attendance to the 17th National Youth Convention and
participation in the Ati-atihan Festival 2012.
The STI National Youth
Convention (NYC) is back with even more exciting things to impart to STI
students. With the theme, It’s all about ME, It’s all about WE!” this year’s 17th
NYC was held last January 10, 2012 at Sampaguita Gardens in New Washington,
Aklan.
STI
students from STI College ILOILO and STI College KALIBO are once again treated
to this one of a kind extravaganza. This year’s STI National Youth Convention
focuses on the students being guided through various topics that will enhance
their self development to become better members of the community through three
action packed presentations.
The first topic entitled “It’s all about ME, Me, Myself and I: Self Development” was
delivered by Mr. Edwin Superable, a faculty member from STI College Novaliches.
The
second topic, entitled It’s all about US – Making a difference, was
delivered by STI College Bacoor’s IT Instructor Mr. RICKY
BUNAG
Finally, the third topic entitled It’s all about
WE - Me & My Community was
delivered by veteran trainer and
author of numerous books on Abundance, Mr. PIDO
AGUILAR.
The
national youth convention aims to systematically provide opportunities that
would trigger discovery, clarification, establishment, and enhancement of
specific values for STI students. (http://mhelgarrido.blogspot.com/2011/12/sti-17th-national-youth-convention.html)
STI Joins
Kalibo Ati Atihan Sad-sad
This year’s Educational Trip to
Aklan was capped with STIers participation in the Street party and merry making
in celebration of the Kalibo Ati-atihan Festival. A total of 800 participants
composed of students, faculty and staff from STI College ILOILO and STI College
KALIBO gathered together at the Kalibo Capitol grounds to commence the much
awaited sad-sad. The merry making in the
major streets of Kalibo lasted until 5:00 in the afternoon.
Overall, this year’s educational
trip in Aklan was a fusion of fun learning experience to everyone through
academic and cultural exposure. And a testament of STI’s thrust in providing every STIer with
real life education.
