STI says Hello to freshmen and returnees: The 2011 Student Orientation

The STI Academic Community officially welcomed the freshmen and returnees during the College Student Orientation Program at CAP Auditorium earlier today June 30, 2011. The orientation program is an annual activity spearheaded by the Guidance/Student Affairs Office through the cooperation of the STI Administration and the Faculty. One of the objectives of this program is to discuss and get the students acquainted with the Policies and Procedures of the various departments in the College.

The orientation program commenced at around 8AM with the opening ceremonies, speeches from Mr. Francis Benedicto, STI Chief Operating Officer and Nancibette Basbas, College Administrator. This was followed by the presentation of STI Vision-Mission, the faculty and staff and the different academic organizations and its respective advisers.

After the preliminaries, the program continued with the orientation proper. Discussants of the different department policies and procedures were as follows: Ronnie Grabato for Academics and Registrar, Nancibette Basbas for Administration, Ligaya Mendoza for Finance, Rielyn Tolentino or Cashier, Junezeth Allones for Computer Laboratory, Marie Tonnie Yulo for Guidance and Student Services and Margielyn Macalalag for Library.

In between the discussions were video presentations of school activities, some song and dance numbers and the presentation of outgoing STI Student Council Officers and the candidates from two new student political parties running for election come July 2011.

A fashion show of different STI proware became the program finale.

Lloyd Celis, the College Information and Communications Officer, hosted the Orientation Program.
